Around the World: Austin to Kathmandu
The journey begins in Austin, Texas where many of the Challenge Trek Team members will meet for the first time. A few are seasoned travelers; for most, this is the trip of a lifetime. Among the group are five men in wheelchairs who bring to the expedition the greatest personal and logistical challenges. Coverage of the trek makes the front page of the morning newspaper—this is the largest expedition of its kind ever to be attempted. Total flight time to Kathmandu will exceed 20 hours.
