Mount Everest Base Camp

The goal of the Challenge Trek Team is to reach Mount Everest Base Camp at 17,500 ft. A daunting task, it has been estimated that as few as 20% of people who attempt to reach Base Camp actually make it. Many—among them even the most experienced hikers and climbers—succumb to acute mountain sickness due to the high altitude. Other illnesses and harsh trekking conditions also take their toll.
