Namche Bazaar
"After the first couple of bridges, I was shaking, I was trembling, I couldn't breathe."
The team crosses a number of suspension bridges on their approach to Namche Bazaar, the trading center of the Khumbu and the gateway to the Himalayan region. With three days in Namche, morale wanes as one team member unexpectedly turns back, and the reality of the hardships they will face in the coming weeks begins to set in. The team experiences their first Himalayan snowfall and catches up on some much needed rest—rest they'll need for the trek out of Namche, which will prove to be one of the most challenging and rewarding thus far.
